The YSTC offers clinical supervision in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBT).
Matthew Cole, the clinical director of the YSTC has a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision and is an EMDR UK & Europe Consultant. He has many years of supervision practice and continually updates his clinical supervision skills.
Supervision is used in psychotherapy and other mental health disciplines as well as many other professions engaged in working with people. It consists of the practitioner meeting regularly with another professional, not necessarily more senior, but normally with training in the skills of supervision, to discuss casework and other professional issues in a structured way. This is often known as clinical or counselling supervision or consultation. The purpose is to assist the practitioner to learn from his or her experience and progress in expertise, as well as to ensure good service to the client or patient.
Many assocciations such as the BABCP, UKCP and EMDR UK & Ireland require the therapist to undertake regular clinical supervision in order to maintain their accreditation and ensure high quality, safe clinical pracitce.
If you have any questions or would like to arrange Clinical Supervision then please do not hesitate to contact Matthew via the contact form.
